Are you ready to lead a passionate team and make a difference? In this role, you will join a dedicated and competent team of experts who are passionate about making a difference for Alaskans. As a supervisor in the HIV/STD Program, housed in the Section of Epidemiology, you will tackle the STI epidemics in Alaska. You will have the pleasure of directly supervising 4-5 Disease Intervention Specialists 1 as they work tirelessly to support patients in getting testing and treatment for STIs.

Responsibilities

  • Co-lead and support a group of Disease Intervention Specialists to assist Alaskans in finding proper treatment for complicated diseases
  • Keep a keen eye on STI trends in the state
  • Use creative and critical thinking to come up with solution-oriented ideas for improving STI testing modalities, healthcare provider practices, and patient outreach methods
  • Assist the team in applying the most up-to-date federal STI guidelines to our work
  • Engage with public health practitioners such as surveillance specialists, epidemiologists, informaticists, and public health nurses in the program, the section, and the community

Requirements

  • Any combination of preparatory post-secondary education and/or progressively responsible experience in public health, health administration, nursing, epidemiology, health sciences, education, health education, community health, emergency medical services, psychology, social sciences, biological sciences, social work, or a closely related field.
  • Competency in Evidence-Based Practice, Interpersonal Skills, Managing Human Resources, Public Health, and Technical Competence.
