About the position

The Dishwasher at Tony's Mexican Restaurant plays a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen. Responsibilities

  • Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and cooking equipment using dishwashers or by hand.
  • Clean and sweep the parking lot before opening the restaurant.
  • Take out trash bags from the bins outside to the larger container.
  • Wash the trash bins from the kitchen to maintain cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Maintain a clean and organized dishwashing area, ensuring that all supplies are stocked and readily available.
  • Refill soap and sanitizer dispensers as needed to ensure proper cleaning processes.
  • Dispose of waste and recyclables properly, keeping the kitchen and dishwashing area tidy.
  • Assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation and other duties when necessary.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the kitchen supervisor.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper food storage and handling.
  • Must wear a clean and neat uniform at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall operation of the restaurant.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must acquire all state-required certifications for the role.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English is preferred; Spanish is required.
  • Previous experience in a high-volume kitchen or similar role preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Must obtain a valid food handler certification prior to starting work.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with team members.
  • Must have a positive attitude and be open to learning.

Nice-to-haves

  • High School Diploma or degree in hospitality field preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of experience preferred.
