About the position

As a Dishwasher/Busser at IHOP, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of our dining environment. Your primary responsibilities will include clearing and resetting tables, cleaning the dining area, and washing dishes, pots, utensils, silverware, china, and glassware. You will ensure that all tasks are performed in accordance with IHOP's Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for cleanliness and sanitation. This position is essential for providing a pleasant dining experience for our guests and supporting the overall operations of the restaurant. In this role, you will develop and maintain professional working relationships with both IHOP team members and guests. You will be responsible for clearing, cleaning, and resetting tables, as well as cleaning chairs, booths, and floors after guests leave. Additionally, you will pick up, sort, and wash all china, silverware, glassware, pots, pans, and utensils. Following the dish machine and/or sink procedures as per IHOP SOP is critical to ensure that all items are cleaned properly. You will also be tasked with unloading, unboxing, rotating, and storing food, equipment, and supplies as necessary. Stocking and rotating all needed supplies in the service areas and dining room will be part of your daily duties. Compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as the IHOP Safety Manual and SOP health, sanitation, and safety guidelines, is mandatory. Proper disposal of trash and checking restrooms hourly for cleanliness and supply levels are also key responsibilities. You will perform all cleaning duties according to posted cleaning charts and adhere to IHOP's uniform and appearance standards. This position may require you to perform other assignments or tasks as assigned by the General Manager, Assistant Manager, or acting supervisor. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • No prior experience required.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to understand oral instructions in English and read English or Spanish well enough to read and understand instructions from supervisors, requests from co-workers and guests, and warning and safety labels.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one-step or two-step instructions.
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
