About the position

The Dishwasher Custodian at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission is responsible for maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing food preparation areas, and ensuring a hygienic environment for food service. This role is essential in supporting the nutritional services team and contributes to the overall health and well-being of the community served by the hospital.

Responsibilities

• Cleans the cooking areas, utensils, and equipment in the kitchen as necessary.
• Washes and sorts flatware, serving dishes, china, and glasses.
• Operates dishwashing machine.
• Cleans and sanitizes all food preparation surfaces, counters, and shelves in the kitchen following each meal.
• Sweeps and mops the floor in the kitchen after each meal.
• Sweeps, mops, and removes trash as assigned.
• Operates and cleans dish machine and assigned equipment per department procedures, including routine sanitizer solution and temperature checks.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• Previous food service experience desirable.
• May be required to obtain and maintain state-specific certifications.
• Servsafe certification preferred.
