About the position

The Dishwasher Custodian at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission is responsible for maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area, ensuring that all cooking utensils, equipment, and food preparation surfaces are sanitized and ready for use. This role is essential in supporting the overall food service operations and contributes to the health and safety of the community served by the hospital.

Responsibilities

• Cleans the cooking areas, utensils, and equipment in the kitchen as necessary.
• Washes and sorts flatware, serving dishes, china, and glasses.
• Operates dishwashing machine and cleans it as per department procedures.
• Cleans and sanitizes all food preparation surfaces, counters, and shelves in the kitchen following each meal.
• Sweeps and mops the floor in the kitchen after each meal.
• Sweeps, mops, and removes trash as assigned.
• Performs routine sanitizer solution and temperature checks for dish machine and assigned equipment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• Previous food service experience desirable.
• May be required to obtain and maintain state-specific certifications.
• Servsafe certification preferred.
