About the position

The position involves maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the Dietary department of a healthcare facility. The role is essential for ensuring that all kitchen and dining areas are hygienic and organized, contributing to the overall quality of food service provided to patients and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Washes, sanitizes and stores pots, pans, bowls, trays, cooking utensils and tools used in preparation and service of food.
  • Cleans all areas of the Dietary department including floors, walls, ceilings, counters, cupboards, production areas, windows, doors, and equipment.
  • Assists in moving and cleaning food carts from storage units and food storage areas.
  • Collects waste in all areas of the department and transports it to the waste compactor.
  • Cleans departmental fryers and discards used oil appropriately.
  • Wipes up spills as necessary and keeps hallways clean and clear of clutter.
  • Maintains janitorial supplies and closets organized and replenishes paper towels and soap throughout the department.
  • Routinely deep cleans cooking equipment, hoods, and rotating fans when not in use.
  • Transports trays, molds, pots, and pans to and from work areas.
  • Goes to patient floors to collect and bring down dirty patient trays for washing.
  • Assists in other duties as requested.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
