About the position

The Porter/Dishwasher at Egg Bar is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized dishwashing area, ensuring all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are properly cleaned, dried, and stored. This role also involves light food preparation and overseeing the kitchen's closure at the end of the night to ensure security and cleanliness.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean and organized dish area by washing and drying all dishes, utensils, and equipment.
  • Keep all kitchen equipment in designated locations for easy access and efficient workflow.
  • Assist with cutting bread and other prep items during downtime when there are fewer dishes.
  • Independently close down the kitchen at the end of the night, following all security protocols and ensuring the facility is locked.
  • Access top shelves to store equipment, using a step ladder if necessary.

Requirements

  • Ability to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and organization.
  • Attention to detail in washing, drying, and storing dishes and kitchen equipment.
  • Basic knife skills and familiarity with kitchen prep tasks.
  • Ability to reach high shelves or use a step ladder comfortably.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience in a kitchen or steward role is beneficial.
