About The Position

The Food and Nutrition Dishwasher at Tabitha is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitary standards in the kitchen. This role supports the organization's mission to empower individuals to live joyfully and age gratefully, while actively contributing to a culture of care and respect for seniors and clients. The Dishwasher collaborates with team members to ensure a clean and orderly kitchen environment, adhering to established cleaning protocols and standards.

Requirements

• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the English language.
• Ability to recognize and interpret non-verbal cues and respond calmly to emergencies and changes in priorities.
• Physical stamina to perform duties while moving about the work area for the entire shift with few opportunities to sit down.
• Strength and stamina to frequently lift, push, pull, reach, squat, kneel, bend, carry, twist, grasp, and climb stairs while carrying supplies.
• Must pass a 32-pound physical exam demonstrating strength and agility prior to employment.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Six months of experience in sanitation work in a healthcare or food preparation facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate dish machine to ensure dishes and silverware are cleaned, sanitized, dried, and put away in a timely manner.
• Clean and sanitize pots and pans according to standard practice.
• Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen, storeroom, cold storage areas, hallways, and dock areas by completing cleaning checklists as directed.
• Handle trash and sweep and mop the kitchen floor.
• Perform assigned work duties within the designated work environment, regardless of personal preference, and according to established time measures and standards.
• Take on additional duties and assignments as necessary.
