About the position

The Dishwasher position is a part-time role focused on supporting the dietary team by ensuring cleanliness and efficiency in the kitchen. The individual will report to the Cook and Dietary Supervisor and will be responsible for various tasks related to food service and kitchen maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Learn food service routine quickly.
  • Set up meal trays.
  • Strip down returned trays and wash dishes.
  • Assist with serving meals.
  • Check and record chlorine concentration and water temperature of the dishwashing machine at the beginning of the shift.
  • Observe water temperatures of the dishwasher during cycles.
  • Operate the dishwasher.
  • Prepare nourishments and snacks.
  • Sweep and mop the kitchen.
  • Carry out trash and garbage.
  • Put groceries away in a safe and clean manner.
  • Leave the kitchen clean and sanitary.
  • Clean work surfaces and refrigerators.
  • Sweep, mop, and maintain floors.
  • Participate in the orientation and ongoing training of dietary staff.
  • Work in cooperation and harmony with personnel in all departments.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read technical procedures and follow recipes.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions.
