About the position
The Dishwasher position at San Vicente Bungalows is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen and dining areas by operating the dishwashing machine and performing various cleaning tasks. The role requires adherence to health and safety regulations while ensuring that all kitchenware is properly cleaned and organized. This position is essential for supporting the kitchen staff and maintaining a high standard of service in a fine dining environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate the dishwashing machine to wash designated restaurant and kitchen wares.
- Clean and maintain equipment and dishwashing areas.
- Assist in washing pots, pans, and other kitchen utensils/equipment.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas.
- Use correct cleaning chemicals for designated items according to OSHA regulations.
- Check the working condition of the dishwashing machine and rectify any deficiencies.
- Remove excess food and debris from soiled wares before washing.
- Inspect the cleanliness and condition of washed wares and rewash if necessary.
- Sort, stack, and store cleaned wares in designated areas.
- Maintain cleanliness and working condition of garbage disposal and compactor.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a fine dining environment preferred.
- Must possess a current Serve Safe handler certificate.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team player.
Nice-to-haves
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
- Experience in a quality food production, multi-outlet, high volume kitchen.
