About the position

The Dishwasher (Utility Associate) at Spring Creek is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen and food service areas of the Assisted Living and Memory Care community. This role involves washing dishes, cleaning kitchen equipment, and ensuring a hygienic environment for food preparation and service. The position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about working with seniors and enhancing their overall wellbeing.

Responsibilities

  • Follows the posted work schedule and arrives on time in appropriate work attire.
  • Responsible for the proper washing of china, flatware, glassware, and other kitchen equipment.
  • Maintains the kitchen and other assigned areas in a sanitary condition.
  • Establishes and maintains constructive working relationships with kitchen personnel and residents.
  • Familiar with food-handling procedures and regulations.
  • Operates kitchen appliances such as garbage disposal, microwave, coffee maker, and ice machine.
  • Assists with food preparation, inventory, maintenance, food deliveries, and stocking shelves as needed.
  • Follows all emergency procedures and understands safety practices.
  • Reports on-the-job injuries to the Community Cook and/or Food Beverage Director immediately.
  • Communicates effectively with the Food Beverage Director and other staff.
  • Advises the Food Beverage Director of any changes in the physical or mental health of a resident.

Requirements

  • High School diploma preferred / GED accepted.
  • Some kitchen experience is desirable.
  • Basic knife skills required.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Good judgment, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Physically able to bend, reach, push, pull, and lift up to 40-50 pounds if necessary.
  • Physically able to stand for extended periods.
