About the position
The Dishwasher at Five Star Senior Living plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen environment. This position is responsible for ensuring that all dishware, utensils, and kitchen equipment are properly cleaned and stored, contributing to the overall dining experience for residents. The role emphasizes teamwork, effective communication, and adherence to cleanliness standards in a supportive and purpose-driven workplace.
Responsibilities
- Wash and inspect all dishware and glassware.
- Store clean utensils, dishes, and glassware in proper places.
- Keep the dishwashing machine and dish room in clean operating condition.
- Report any malfunctions or breakdowns of equipment to the Food Service Manager.
- Sweep and mop kitchen area and waitstaff station, and clean filter over stove area.
- Deliver ice to the dining room.
- Assist waitstaff with serving and bringing in dishes to the kitchen when necessary.
- Deliver meals to residents in their apartments when necessary.
- Perform assigned cleaning assignments according to established policies and utilize proper cleaning chemicals.
- Keep work areas clean and uncluttered.
- Ensure that dishes are readily available for the next meal.
- Store dishes in the proper location to prevent contamination.
Requirements
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Ability to communicate effectively to fulfill position responsibilities.
- Able to read schedules, menus, and position-related instructions.
- Ability to work in a team environment and work flexible shifts.
