About the position

Join the Outback family as a Dishwasher, where you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of dishes and small wares in our restaurant. As a Dishwasher, your responsibilities will extend beyond just washing dishes; you will also be responsible for trash disposal and linen bag removal. It is essential that all washed items meet the rinse and wash temperature criteria set for each state, ensuring that our customers enjoy their meals on perfectly clean plates and silverware. Your efforts will contribute to providing each customer with an AUS-SOME dining experience, making their day better with our delicious food served on spotless tableware. In this role, you will be expected to maintain the organization and flow of the kitchen while washing dishes and utensils. Practicing food safety and sanitation is paramount, and you will be responsible for restocking the kitchen and cook line as needed throughout your shift. General cleaning of the restaurant will also be part of your duties, ensuring that the environment remains welcoming and hygienic for both staff and guests. You will need to have a clear understanding of how the dish machine operates, including all its chemical components, and be knowledgeable about the procedures for changing out water and chemicals as necessary. Keeping the floors clean and dry, as well as ensuring that plates and small wares are consistently clean, will be part of your daily tasks. Additionally, you will maintain and inspect food receiving, preparation, production, and storage areas to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. If you notice any unsafe practices or conditions, it is your responsibility to correct them and notify management. This position is vital to the overall success of our restaurant, and we are looking for dedicated individuals who are ready to contribute to our team.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining organization and flow while washing dishes and utensils.

  • Maintains and inspects food receiving, preparation, production, and storage areas to ensure that health and safety regulations are always adhered to.
  • Corrects unsafe practices or conditions and notifies management.

Requirements

  • 1+ year BOH experience in full-service restaurant preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
  • Team player
  • Must be available to work a variety of opens, swings, and closes
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 lbs
  • Vision abilities to include distance, close, color, depth, and peripheral; ability to adjust focus
  • Regular use of hands to finger handles or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms
  • Able to work in hot and cold environments
