About the position

The Dishwasher position at Cinépolis USA is a part-time role focused on supporting kitchen operations by ensuring cleanliness and organization in the kitchen. The role involves preparing menu items, maintaining food safety standards, and collaborating with kitchen staff to deliver high-quality service to guests. This position is essential for maintaining the overall efficiency and cleanliness of the kitchen environment, contributing to a positive dining experience for customers.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare menu items accurately and promptly when ordered through the point of sale system.
  • Make items ordered through the point of sale system and accommodate special requests with management approval.
  • Prepare dishes according to recipes to maintain quality and consistency.
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff to ensure timely service.
  • Remake items when instructed by a Supervisor or Manager.
  • Adhere to Food Handlers Safety guidelines, including maintaining safe food temperatures and avoiding cross-contamination.
  • Wash dishes and clean the work area during and at the end of the shift.
  • Keep kitchen areas stocked with dry products and prep materials, restocking as necessary.
  • Use FIFO system to keep food fresh and eliminate waste.
  • Maintain waste logs for discarded items due to expiration or errors.
  • Keep supervisors and kitchen managers updated on inventory levels.
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.
  • Work safely, using cutting gloves and asking for assistance when needed.
  • Follow all opening, mid, and closing procedures.
  • Attend and participate in trainings and meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of professional kitchen experience, culinary training preferred.
  • Experience in dishwashing, prep/cooking, and expediting.
  • ServSafe training certification preferred or must complete training provided by Cinépolis.
  • Proficiency in kitchen operations and execution.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. measurements, weight, and volume.
  • Ability to follow instructions on safe use of chemical/cleaning materials.
  • Effective communication skills with supervisors and coworkers.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as walking, lifting, twisting, and bending.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus but not required.
