About the position

The Dishwasher position at Shorewood Senior Living involves maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen by washing and putting away dishes, assisting with food preparation, and ensuring food safety procedures are followed. This part-time role is essential in supporting a vibrant and caring environment for the elderly residents, working under the supervision of the Kitchen Director.

Responsibilities

• Clean and put away dirty food preparation dishes, utensils, and serving dishes.
• Assist in bussing tables and minimal food preparation.
• Follow food safety procedures diligently.
• Store perishable and non-perishable goods appropriately.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, vendors, and the general public.

Requirements

• Must hold a current food handling card as required by the state.
• Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions at a necessary level.
• Ability to remain calm under stressful conditions and make decisions.
• Reliable transportation to work is required.
• Must meet all health requirements and pass a criminal background check.
• Compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.

• Experience in a kitchen environment is preferred.
• Ability to work on a regular schedule and on-call as needed.
