About the position

Elmer's Restaurants is seeking a part-time dishwasher to maintain the cleanliness and efficiency of the dish room and dish machine. The role is essential for ensuring a consistent supply of clean dishes, glassware, and utensils for both the front and back of the house, contributing to the overall dining experience.

Responsibilities

• Set up, maintain, and break down the dish machine, including arms, screens, and baskets.
• Check the dish machine consistently throughout the shift to ensure proper operation, including water temperature and sanitation levels.
• Visually inspect dishes, glassware, cups, trays, utensils, and small wares to ensure they are clean like new.
• Report any defects to the Manager on Duty immediately.
• Wash and store all dishes, glassware, cups, trays, utensils, pots, pans, and anything else used in food preparation, cooking, or storage.
• Ensure all sanitation solutions in the dish machine and pot sinks meet health code standards.
• Remove trash from the dish room and place it in the dumpster.
• Clean and sanitize garbage cans and keep clean liners in cans at all times.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of utensil racks, dish storage area, mop area, and chemical storage area.
• Complete side work and extra projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Must have a valid Food Handler's Card.
• Ability to meet the shift's needs of fluctuating business demands.
• Make quality decisions relying on experience and good judgment with supervisory assistance.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
