About the position
The Dishwasher at The Abbewood plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the dining area, ensuring that residents' dining needs are met in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company standards. This position is essential for the smooth operation of the dining services, as it involves not only dishwashing but also various cleaning duties that contribute to a pleasant dining experience for residents. The Dishwasher will report directly to the Dining Services Director and is expected to work efficiently and effectively with minimal supervision. This role is particularly suitable for individuals seeking part-time employment, such as students, as it offers a shift from 3:45 PM to 6:45 PM, making it an ideal after-school job. In this position, the Dishwasher will be responsible for loading and unloading the dishwasher, hand washing pots, pans, and utensils that cannot be cleaned in the commercial dishwashing machine, and assisting in the daily cleaning of various kitchen areas, including the walk-in refrigerator, stock room, ovens, sinks, and floors. Additionally, the Dishwasher will be tasked with recording the temperatures of the dish machine daily to ensure proper sanitation levels, removing trash, and inserting new trash bags. If staffing requires, the Dishwasher may also assist with serving meals and delivering them to residents' rooms. This role demands a commitment to excellent customer service and hospitality, as well as a professional demeanor in accordance with company uniform standards.
Responsibilities
- Loads and unloads dishwasher
- Hand washes/scrubs pots, pans, utensils and items not suited for commercial dishwashing machine
- Assists in daily cleaning (i.e., walk in refrigerator, stock room, ovens, sinks, floors)
- Records temperatures of dish machine daily to ensure proper sanitation levels
- Removes trash and inserts new trash bags
- Assists with serving if staffing requires
- Delivers meals to residents' rooms
Requirements
- Must have high school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum age 18 years old (OSHA requirement)
- Prior food services experience preferred
- Must demonstrate excellent customer service and hospitality
- Must demonstrate trustworthiness and dependability
- Must work efficiently and effectively with little to no supervision
- Must demonstrate effective communication skills
- Must demonstrate motor coordination and dexterity in a fast paced work environment
- Must present in a professional manner in accordance with Company uniform standards
- Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Century Park's Code of Ethics and completes all required compliance training
