About the position
The Dishwasher at The Nash Casino will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen and dining areas. This entry-level position is essential for ensuring that all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are properly cleaned and sanitized, adhering to health department standards. The role involves working in a fast-paced environment, providing excellent service to internal guests, and supporting the overall operations of the food and beverage department as the casino prepares to open in early 2025.
Responsibilities
- Safely use all kitchen equipment and cleaning products according to departmental standards.
- Understand and adhere to safe and sanitary work habits, including the handling and storage of chemicals.
- Scrape, rinse, and load dishes and utensils into the dish machine.
- Clean, sanitize, and maintain dish machines.
- Transport and store all pots, pans, dining ware, silverware, and glassware used in the food and beverage operation.
- Empty trash containers regularly.
- Report any machine or equipment malfunctions to kitchen or department leadership.
- Keep the work area clean and organized throughout the shift.
- Provide excellent service to internal guests, anticipating and meeting their needs.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with coworkers and guests.
- Complete work activities accurately, efficiently, and in a timely manner.
- Follow company safety policies and procedures, responding appropriately in emergencies.
- Maintain regular attendance at scheduled shifts and staff meetings.
- Assist with training and mentoring of new team members as requested.
- Maintain professionalism and a friendly demeanor throughout the workday.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Ability to work a variety of shifts, including day, swing, late-night, weekend, and holiday shifts.
- Must pass all required pre-screening and background checks.
- Internal candidates must have been in their current position for at least six months with no active disciplinary action.
