About the position

Wells Fargo is seeking a highly experienced Software Engineering Senior Manager to lead complex, enterprise-wide challenges related to datacenter and cloud migrations. This role focuses on improving migration velocity with a customer-first mindset, managing a team of Principal and Senior solution engineers, and enhancing operational performance. The position is part of the Digital Infrastructure Strategy Program (DISP), which aims to transform technology infrastructure by building new datacenters and migrating applications to public cloud environments.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of experienced principal and senior engineers responsible for application migrations to new datacenters or public cloud.
  • Lead the team that advises technology-wide leadership on applications, network, information security, and other technologies for complex business needs.
  • Resolve unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas of the enterprise, delivering long-term, large-scale solutions.
  • Engage and influence architects and engineers to incorporate Wells Fargo Technology strategies and enable application migration paths.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for driving escalated resolution of technology roadblocks.
  • Ensure security, stability, and scalability within technology functions, managing and mitigating risks.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers/Product Owners to drive user satisfaction and influence technology requirements in the product roadmap.
  • Manage allocation of resources to ensure commitments align with strategic objectives in technology engineering.
  • Hire and develop talent to effectively design and deliver innovative solutions, conducting performance management for engineers and managers.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of Software Engineering experience or equivalent through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
  • 3+ years of Management experience.
  • 3+ years of experience with datacenter migrations and/or cloud migrations.

  • Experience leading cross-functionally with technical teams to align priorities and achieve outcomes.
  • Experience leading strategy and resolution of complex challenges across multiple workstreams.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
  • Ability to lead through influence.
