About the position

The Dispatch/Supervisor role at McDonald Paper & Restaurant Supplies involves overseeing dispatch operations during the evening shift, ensuring efficient delivery routes and timely service. The position requires effective communication with drivers and management, as well as the ability to handle customer inquiries and complaints. The supervisor will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records and assisting in training new staff.

Responsibilities

• Plan and create efficient routes for delivery vehicles operating in New Jersey and the 5 boroughs of New York City.
• Supervise dispatch operations during the evening shift, ensuring timely departures and arrivals.
• Coordinate with drivers and other team members to optimize route efficiency and address any issues that may arise during the shift.
• Monitor vehicle tracking systems to ensure compliance with planned routes and schedules.
• Communicate effectively with drivers and management regarding any changes or updates to routes or schedules.
• Handle customer inquiries and complaints regarding delivery schedules or service issues.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as local transportation regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, including route plans, driver assignments, and delivery status updates.
• Assist in training new dispatch staff and drivers as needed.
• Collaborate with other departments to improve overall efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• Previous experience in dispatch or logistics operations, preferably in a transportation or delivery setting.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with drivers, customers, and other team members.
• Ability to work evening shifts and weekends as needed.
• Fluency in Russian or Ukrainian is preferred but not required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in logistics or transportation management is a plus.
