About the position
The Dispatcher Supervisor at Lincoln Public Schools is responsible for managing the dispatch department of the transportation sector. This role involves ensuring that all transportation routes are effectively assigned to drivers and buses daily. The supervisor oversees the dispatching of vehicles, coordinates with substitute drivers, and assists with data entry and typing tasks within the Transportation Department. The position requires a commitment of 40 hours per week, with the possibility of additional hours based on departmental needs.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the dispatch department of LPS transportation.
- Assign individual runs of each route package to drivers and buses daily.
- Dispatch vehicles and call substitute drivers as needed.
- Assist with typing and data inputting for the Transportation Department.
- Ensure efficient operation of the Dispatch Center.
Requirements
- Experience in a supervisory role within a transportation or logistics environment.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Proficiency in data entry and computer terminal operations.
