About the position
We are seeking a skilled Dispatcher to join our team at JMS Transportation Co. Inc. The ideal candidate will have experience in transportation management systems and dispatching, with strong communication skills and the ability to analyze and plan transportation routes effectively. This role is crucial for ensuring efficient transportation operations and timely delivery of goods.
Responsibilities
- Utilize transportation management systems to coordinate and schedule deliveries
- Communicate with drivers, customers, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of goods
- Analyze transportation data to optimize routes and improve efficiency
- Coordinate with fleet management to maintain vehicle schedules and maintenance records
- Monitor shipping and receiving activities to ensure accurate tracking of freight
- Collaborate with third-party logistics providers (3PL) for seamless operations
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years experience in transportation planning and dispatching
- Proficiency in transportation management systems and 3PL operations
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data effectively
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with various stakeholders
- Experience in managing transportation operations efficiently
Nice-to-haves
- Familiarity with McLeod Transportation Management or similar software
- Dispatching experience of 1 year (Preferred)
