About the position
The Dispatcher - Container Freight Specialist at Cencora plays a crucial role in coordinating and monitoring inbound international shipments at the O'Hare International Airport Container Freight Storage area. This position involves ensuring compliance with regulations, maintaining the cold chain for shipments, and collaborating with Dispatch Supervisors and other team members to achieve operational targets. The role requires attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate incoming Bonded shipments into the Container Freight Storage area.
- Monitor all inbound international shipments scheduled for the O'Hare International Airport Container Freight Storage area.
- Complete all activities in TMS pertaining to the Bonded Room.
- Monitor drivers to ensure all Bonded shipments are recovered from the airline.
- Review and monitor Bonded freight daily, ensuring that cold chain is maintained.
- Create Customs Blue Manipulation for replenishment in the Bonded room.
- Enter Gather replenishment details daily into TMS.
- Monitor and maintain cold chain for all shipments on FDA hold.
- Ensure all shipments within the Container Freight Storage area are secured and safely stored.
- Report all complaints and issues to management immediately.
- Monitor the Virtual Import Board and coordinate with WCB to nominate shipments to be moved to the Bonded Room.
- Maintain all customs related documentation (Form 3499, etc.).
- Conduct daily audits of the Container Freight Storage area to ensure full compliance of regulations.
Requirements
- General knowledge of the airport and surrounding area.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Teams, and Outlook email.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
- Must be able to lift at least 50lbs.
- Detail-oriented with a sense of urgency.
