About the position

The Dispatcher/Customer Service role in the Abandoned Vehicles Department at Schroeder's Towing involves providing exceptional customer service and managing dispatch operations. The position requires effective communication with clients, drivers, and internal team members to ensure smooth operations and timely resolution of customer inquiries and complaints. The role also includes utilizing Towbooks software for various tasks related to towing requests and maintaining accurate records.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients and customers.
  • Answer incoming calls from multiple phone lines.
  • Handle inquiries regarding towing needs, concerns, and questions.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, drivers, and internal team members.
  • Resolve customer complaints or issues in a timely manner.
  • Utilize Towbooks software for inputting new tow requests and releasing vehicles from impound.
  • Maintain accurate records of interactions and transactions using Towbooks software.
  • Process monetary transactions using cash, credit cards, debit cards, and checks.
  • Dispatch drivers to calls based on location and specific towing needs.
  • Assist with processing and typing certified mail for the Abandoned Vehicles Department.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask.
  • Proficient in typing and basic computer skills.
  • Experience with multiple-line phone systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Geographical knowledge of the greater Columbia area.
