About the position

The Dispatcher/Customer Service role in the Abandoned Vehicles Department involves providing exceptional customer service, managing incoming calls, and utilizing dispatching software to coordinate towing operations. The position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients and customers.
  • Answer incoming calls from multiple phone lines.
  • Handle inquiries from clients regarding towing needs and concerns.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, drivers, and internal team members.
  • Resolve customer complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  • Utilize Towbooks software for inputting tow requests and managing documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records of interactions and transactions using Towbooks software.
  • Process monetary transactions using various payment methods.
  • Dispatch drivers to calls based on location and towing needs.
  • Assist with processing and typing certified mail for the Abandoned Vehicles Department.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask.
  • Geographical knowledge of the greater Columbia area is a plus.
  • Proficient in typing and basic computer skills.
  • Knowledge of dispatching software such as Towbooks is a plus.
  • Familiarity with dispatching and tow company operations is a plus.
  • Experience with multiple-line phone systems.

  • Experience in office settings.
  • Knowledge of towing operations.
