About the position

The Service Dispatcher plays a crucial role in ensuring effective communication between customers and service technicians at Action Plumbing, Heating, AC & Electric, Inc. This position is responsible for scheduling work orders, managing technician assignments, and maintaining customer satisfaction through exceptional service. The dispatcher must be organized, self-motivated, and possess strong communication skills to handle incoming service calls and coordinate technician schedules efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Track incoming service calls and assign the appropriate technician to the job
• Relay work orders, messages, or information to or from work crews or supervisors
• Coordinate service technician arrival times with customers
• Communicate with customers after work is completed to ensure 100% customer satisfaction
• Manage and update customer database with complete and accurate information
• Oversee service technician's daily schedules and make updates as needed
• Respond positively to calls from customers to understand their needs and effectively schedule work orders
• Provide exceptional customer service to customers
• Communicate clearly and efficiently with customers and technicians
• Answer phone calls and schedule appointments
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• 2 years general dispatch experience
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Keyboarding/Typing skills
• MS Office skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Friendly phone personality
• Geographical knowledge of service areas or map reading skills

Nice-to-haves

• Previous dispatching, project management or schedule coordinating experience
• Professional phone etiquette
• Positive attitude when working with customers and technicians
