About the position
We have a Tacoma Logistics company looking for a dispatcher to join their team for an evaluation to hire position. This position requires someone that is adaptable, patient, and possesses both computer and customer service experience. The dispatcher will be responsible for scheduling and dispatching drivers to appropriate locations, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining effective communication with drivers and clients. The role is crucial in managing logistics operations and requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and customer service. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and be able to handle stressful situations with composure. This position is based in Tacoma, WA, and offers a full-time schedule from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. The pay for this role is $25 per hour, and it is structured as a temp-to-hire opportunity, allowing for evaluation of the candidate's fit within the company before a permanent offer is made.
Responsibilities
- Schedule and dispatch drivers to appropriate locations.
- Assist drivers in getting their deliveries scheduled on time.
- Problem solve any report discrepancies to help save costs.
- Diffuse situations as drivers may be upset due to a variety of situations.
- Answer phones and direct callers to the appropriate person.
- Use communication tools such as telephones, Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and text messages.
- Perform other job duties as needed.
