About the position

The Dispatcher/Maintenance Coordinator at Newton Transport is a pivotal role within a women-owned trucking company, responsible for managing dispatch operations and coordinating maintenance schedules. This position requires a blend of administrative skills and customer service, ensuring efficient communication with drivers and timely updates on loads and equipment maintenance. The role may offer a hybrid work-from-home option depending on the candidate's proximity to the office.

Responsibilities

• Update loads and bookings in the system
• Book loads from load boards/customers when needed
• Update drivers for pick up and drop off
• Check on equipment daily and investigate roadside inspections
• Schedule repairs, oil changes, and maintain maintenance schedules
• Collect documents from drivers
• Conduct driver orientation and manage fuel cards
• Be on call 24/7 for drivers after hours for emergencies

Requirements

• Must have a valid driver license (CDL is a plus)
• Must have a reliable car to and from work
• Must be able to work from the office 7:30 am - 3:30 pm
• Must be able to answer emergency calls after hours
• Must have a professional attitude and the ability to work with drivers
• Must be able to communicate efficiently over the phone and through emails
• Must have a high school diploma (college degree a plus)
• Previous maintenance experience is a huge plus
