About the position

The Dispatcher Supervisor at Spartan Education is responsible for authorizing, regulating, and controlling flights in accordance with government and company regulations to ensure safety and efficiency. This role involves managing work schedules for staff, training employees on departmental procedures, and maintaining the integrity of the flight schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Authorize, regulate, and control flights according to government and company regulations.
  • Set and manage work schedules for staff.
  • Train employees on department procedures.
  • Maintain the integrity of the Spartan flight schedule and ensure accurate flight times.
  • Act as the single point of contact for operations and communications.
  • Request fuel, oil, and deicing needs from students or instructors, adhering to FAA regulations.
  • Guide and direct students in scheduling flight operations and aircraft utilization.
  • Conduct arrival/end-of-day inspections for security.
  • Schedule, plan, and control the dispatch of aircraft, reporting all schedule changes and no-shows.
  • Review documentation to release flights for takeoff, including financial means for payment.
  • Coordinate with instructors to ensure student readiness for flights.
  • Work with the Director of Maintenance on aircraft requirements and estimated time in commission (ETIC).
  • Ensure compliance with maintenance schedules and inspection intervals.
  • Prepare logs of flights, delays, and cancellations, noting reasons for changes.
  • Maintain a professional dispatch area and enforce the Student Code of Conduct.
  • Manage inventory of oil and parts, ordering as needed.
  • Assist in flight line crew management.
  • Perform other incidental duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • One year of related experience and training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
