About the position

The Distribution & Warehouse Manager at B&G Foods, Inc. is responsible for overseeing all shipping and receiving operations within a large facility that handles over 14 million cases annually. This role involves managing a team of supervisors and associates across multiple shifts, focusing on efficiency, process improvement, and maintaining positive employee relations while adhering to budgetary constraints and customer expectations. The manager collaborates with other departments to enhance operational efficiency and is a key member of the plant management team.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of shipping and receiving for a facility handling over 14 million cases annually.
• Manage a team of supervisors and over 80 associates across three shifts.
• Champion a safe work culture and reinforce behavior-based safety practices.
• Manage the Distribution Center's shipping operations, including picking, custom retail display assembly, and various shipping methods.
• Oversee the Receiving Department, ensuring proper handling of all inbound shipments of raw materials and supplies.
• Implement organizational changes and continuous process improvements.
• Provide technical expertise to enhance operational efficiency.
• Participate in projects from inception to completion, including design and equipment selection.
• Assist in developing the annual Capital Plan.
• Engage the workforce through effective feedback and communication, maintaining fair employee relations.
• Interface with transportation and logistics providers to ensure timely deliveries.
• Manage the forklift fleet in partnership with a third-party maintenance provider.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards, including cGMPs.

Requirements

• Mid-level experience in distribution and warehouse management.
• Strong communication skills.
