About the position

GEICO is seeking a distinguished Finance Data Architect to lead the development of a Finance data lake/mart. This role requires a strong functional and technical background in Finance Systems to effectively collaborate with business teams and drive the transformation and utilization of Finance data. The architect will provide leadership, coaching, and strategic direction to ensure the successful implementation of technology solutions that support financial planning, reporting, and analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage deep functional and technical systems expertise to drive solutions for Finance needs.
  • Engage in cross-functional collaboration throughout the software lifecycle.
  • Lead design sessions to ensure systems are efficient and meet business expectations.
  • Collaborate with Finance Leaders to align technology with organizational goals.
  • Establish a vision and technology roadmap for Core Financials functions.
  • Develop project roadmaps with Business Sponsors that align with business objectives.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment towards long-term goals.
  • Establish and maintain a strong control and governance framework for SOX and Audit reviews.
  • Facilitate discussions between Business and Technology leaders.
  • Translate business specifications into technical specifications.
  • Implement best practices and improve processes across teams.

Requirements

  • 25+ years of Finance Systems experience with industry-leading ERP solutions.
  • 15+ years of management or lead experience in Finance Systems support.
  • 5+ years managing or supporting a Finance Data Lake/Warehouse/Mart.
  • 10+ years as a lead or architect supporting Financial systems (GL, AP, PO, FA, AR, Expenses, Costing, and FP&A).
  • Deep Finance domain expertise to interpret process and functional needs into system solutions.
  • Strong understanding of Accounting processes and reporting expectations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with business leaders across Technology and Finance.
  • Solid understanding of project management techniques and methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to excel in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of the software development life cycle.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with multiple ERP systems such as PeopleSoft, Oracle EBS, Workday, or SAP.
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment.
