About the position

The Distinguished Engineer, SRE Availability, Incident & Change Management is responsible for leading the strategy and execution of a technical roadmap aimed at enhancing system performance and delivering products efficiently. This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders to innovate and improve existing systems while mentoring engineering teams and influencing leadership decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership across multiple areas within the enterprise.
  • Collaborate with product managers, team members, customers, and other engineering teams to solve complex problems.
  • Lead the architecture and design of various SRE platforms such as Workflow Automation, Alert Platform, and SLO Platform.
  • Develop and execute a technical software development strategy for various domains.
  • Ensure the quality, usability, and performance of solutions.
  • Utilize programming languages like Python, C#, SQL, and NoSQL databases, along with container orchestration services like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Mentor and coach engineering and product teams to enhance technical expertise.
  • Influence and educate leadership at all levels on technical matters.
  • Share best practices and improve processes within and across teams.
  • Analyze costs and forecast, incorporating them into business plans.

Requirements

  • Fluency in at least two modern programming languages such as Java, GoLang, C++, Python, or C# with a focus on object-oriented design.
  • Experience in building products with micro-services architecture and extensible REST APIs.
  • Experience in architecture and design of new and existing systems, including reliability and scaling.
  • Experience with continuous delivery and infrastructure as code.
  • Fluency in DevOps concepts, cloud architecture, and Azure DevOps operational framework.
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting and application monitoring tools.
  • Knowledge of Datacenter structure and capabilities, particularly with Azure.
  • Understanding of security protocols and products, including Active Directory and OAuth.
  • Deep understanding of Kubernetes and Docker technologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of computer science data structures and algorithms.
