About the position

As a Distinguished Engineer at Capital One, you will be part of a community of technical experts focused on defining the future of banking in the cloud. This role involves leading innovation, optimizing business outcomes, and driving technology solutions within the Loyalty team, which is responsible for building high-quality and resilient features of Capital One's loyalty platform. You will mentor internal talent, promote engineering excellence, and serve as a trusted advisor on key technologies and platforms.

• Serve as an authoritative expert on non-functional system characteristics, such as performance, scalability and operability

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• At least 7 years of experience in software development and solution architecture
• At least 3 years of experience in public cloud implementations

Nice-to-haves

• Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field
• AWS Solution Architect Certification
• 3+ years of experience with AWS
• 3+ years of Site Reliability Engineering experience
• 3+ years of system performance and observability experience
• 10+ years experience deploying and supporting distributed, high-volume, high-availability systems
