About the position

The Distinguished Engineer at GEICO will lead the design, development, and implementation of an insurance exchange aimed at creating a seamless experience for various customer insurance needs. This role is crucial in building a robust, automated, and scalable solution that enhances partner onboarding, management, and policy lifecycle processes, ultimately improving customer experiences. The position requires a passion for understanding customer needs and the ability to connect them with business opportunities, all while thriving in a fast-paced environment and tackling complex technical challenges.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design and implement a partner platform to support a diverse group of partners.
• Collaborate with business and product partners to understand their needs and design appropriate solutions.
• Abstract cross-cutting concerns into common platform components for current and future use cases.
• Lead team prioritization and sequencing of milestones to deliver incremental business value.
• Develop and champion best practices in modular design, version control, automated testing, and security considerations.
• Partner with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) to implement monitoring, alerting, and automation for platform reliability and scalability.

Requirements

• 12+ years of professional experience in product/platform engineering designing and building business-critical applications.
• 6+ years of experience working with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• 4+ years of experience leading and mentoring technical teams.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Java, GO, or C#.
• Proven ability to design and manage infrastructure across multi-cloud environments.
• Solid understanding of hybrid cloud networking, security, and data management challenges.
• Experience building and optimizing CI/CD pipelines for provisioning and automated testing.
• Knowledge of DevSecOps and security best practices.
