About the position

As a DAS Technician at Convergint Technologies, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS). This role involves working with various telecommunications equipment and ensuring optimal system performance through troubleshooting and documentation. You will also lead teams, mentor junior technicians, and support operations related to inventory and logistics.

Responsibilities

  • Install outdoor and indoor antennas, coaxial cables, CATV, fiber optic cables, CAT 5/6, and DC power cables adhering to NEC standards.
  • Terminate, splice, secure, and test copper coaxial and optical fiber cables using specialized tools.
  • Configure and integrate DAS head-end equipment, including Rectifiers, Battery Systems, and Commscope systems.
  • Read and interpret design drawings, blueprints, and installation guides for accurate installations.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with antennas, cables, and head-end equipment for optimal performance.
  • Lead teams of installers, ensuring high-quality work and providing training to junior technicians.
  • Maintain detailed project documentation, including blueprints, progress updates, and material usage.
  • Assist with warehouse logistics, inventory management, and material preparation.

Requirements

  • 1-4 years of experience in telecommunications installation, with expertise in fiber, copper, and coaxial terminations and testing.
  • Certification or equivalent experience in fiber, copper, or coaxial cable termination and testing.
  • Proficiency in using tools such as JMA compression connectors, Anritsu Sweep, and fusion splicers.
  • Experience with fiber optic systems; Corning and EXFO certifications are a plus.
  • Knowledge of fire and electrical codes is preferred.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Valid WA06 Electrical License.
