About the position
The Distributed Systems Engineer (L5) role at Netflix focuses on transforming the cloud infrastructure control planes to enable high-level declarative infrastructure orchestration. This position involves building and operating distributed systems that support Netflix's extensive cloud services, ensuring reliability and efficiency while empowering developers to create innovative applications.
Responsibilities
- Building Distributed Systems responsible for sequencing, provisioning, and configuring service infrastructure for all of Netflix leveraging Temporal, Java, Kotlin, and Go
- Operating some of our most critical Tier-0 Control Planes
- Engaging directly with end engineering users to understand their needs and improve their experience
- Leaning into proactiveness and effective communication in pursuit of cross-functional alignment
Requirements
- Recent and proficient experience with Java, C++, Go, Python, or similar
- Experience building & operating highly reliable distributed systems in a cloud environment
- Passion for technology, pragmatic thinking, ability to jump into an ambiguous area and break down complex problems
