About the position

The Distribution Center Associate position at Boot Barn involves a variety of tasks centered around the efficient handling of merchandise within the distribution center. The role is crucial for ensuring that incoming freight is received, processed, and shipped accurately and safely. Associates will assist with unloading trucks, confirming the quantities of merchandise, and verifying the accuracy of orders. This position requires the ability to operate RF units and scanners effectively, which are essential tools for sorting, scanning, and separating merchandise for processing. In addition to unloading, the role includes packing products for weekly distributions to stores, where associates will sort and scan units of merchandise, placing them on conveyor lines for distribution. The associate will also be responsible for pulling products for distribution, ensuring that all tasks are performed in a safe and organized manner. Maintaining a clean and safe work environment is a key responsibility, as is monitoring equipment and reporting any issues to supervisors. The position also involves value-added services (VAS) such as assisting with new store or event receiving, tagging, and packing. Associates will prepare and stage orders for shipping, ensuring that all necessary paperwork is completed before products are sent out. Responsibilities

  • Assists with receiving incoming freight.
  • Unloading trucks and confirming quantities of merchandise.
  • Sorts, scans, and separates merchandise and inventory for processing.
  • Utilizes hard copy reports to process damaged and/or salvageable merchandise as directed.
  • Monitors sort induction lines for accurate scanning of distribution labels.
  • Handles and stacks merchandise to prevent damage and ensure safe loads.
  • Exhibits reasonable care in operating material handling equipment (Industrial Manual Pallet Jack).
  • Performs general housekeeping duties to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Monitors equipment and reports problems to the supervisor.
  • Maintains a clean work environment by keeping cross walks and workstations neat.
  • Packs product for weekly distributions to stores.
  • Pulls products for all weekly distributions to stores.
  • Assists with new store/event receiving, tagging, and packing.
  • Prepares and stages orders for shipping.
  • Loads hand-stacked cartons in trailers according to delivery schedules.
  • Demonstrates professionalism in communication and teamwork with customers and peers.
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
