About the position
The Distribution Center Associate position at Ashley HomeStore involves working in a warehouse environment to support the unloading, moving, and preparation of furniture and mattresses for delivery. This role offers opportunities for advancement and does not require prior experience. Associates are expected to ensure customer satisfaction and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Responsibilities
- Unload trucks, move, lift, and unpack furniture and mattresses.
- Assemble and prep furniture for delivery or pick-up.
- Ensure total customer satisfaction and quality expectations.
- Locate merchandise in designated shipping bays for delivery.
- Repackage returned, pulled, repaired, or vendor return merchandise before relocation.
- Service customers during warehouse pickups, including unpacking, inspection, payment, and loading.
- Safely maneuver furniture on a two-wheel dolly without assistance.
- Clean and organize the warehouse.
- Assist with various warehouse tasks as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to communicate in English, both in speech and writing.
- Ability to follow through on assignments and carry out goals and instructions.
- Demonstrates a customer focus.
- Ability to safely move up to 50 lbs. or more with assistance.
- Ability to maintain heavy physical activity during shifts.
- Ability to use a two-wheeler.
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, stand, and walk frequently.
- Ability to work in indoor/outdoor climates.
