About the position
Gensco is seeking a Department Supervisor 1 for its Distribution Center in Tacoma, WA. This full-time role involves overseeing daily warehousing, delivery, and customer service operations, ensuring team effectiveness and operational efficiency. The supervisor will be responsible for team building, setting measurable goals, and maintaining a positive work environment while implementing best practices in warehouse management.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the day-to-day warehousing, delivery, and customer service functions of the Branch Warehouse.
- Build and maintain a cohesive team by implementing continuous education processes for all Branch Team Members.
- Establish objective and measurable goals, clearly communicating these goals and standards to the Branch Team.
- Maintain a positive and helpful attitude toward fellow Team Members and Customers.
- Suggest and implement improvements in warehouse cost management and operational processes.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; AA degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
- 2+ years of related experience with Gensco or equivalent preferred.
- Prior direct customer service experience is required.
- Excellent knowledge of the products sold by Gensco is necessary.
- Understanding of inside sales, outside sales, warehouse, and delivery functions is essential.
- Ability to regularly lift 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 75 pounds is required.
- Ability to frequently work at heights up to 30 feet is necessary.
- Regular, consistent attendance for scheduled shifts is expected.
