About the position

At Airgas, our trusted Expeditor is responsible for providing full support to the distribution center receiving department. This role is essential in ensuring that all inbound purchase orders and receiving transactions are audited for accuracy. The Expeditor will research and resolve any issues related to incoming shipments, collaborating with vendors and intercompany branches to address concerns. Additionally, the position involves working closely with accounts payable to resolve invoice discrepancies. The Expeditor will support the receiving supervisor and staff by executing various administrative tasks, contributing to the overall efficiency of the distribution center. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, with facility hours of operation from 8:00 AM to 8:30 PM. In addition to the essential duties, the Expeditor may also be responsible for unloading and staging shipments, verifying the accuracy of received products, and preparing items for shipment. This includes packing products, wrapping skids, stacking boxes, and manifesting shipments for delivery to customers. The role may also involve other warehouse-related tasks as assigned, making it a dynamic position within the distribution center.

Responsibilities

  • Audit inbound purchase orders and receiving transactions for accuracy
  • Research, resolve, and correspond with vendors and intercompany branches about incoming shipment issues
  • Research, resolve, and correspond with accounts payable about invoice issues
  • Support receiving supervisor and staff by executing various administrative tasks
  • Unload and stage shipments to be received
  • Verify accuracy, receive and stage products to be put-away
  • Put-Away and replenish products to be picked
  • Pick and stage products to be shipped
  • Verify accuracy and pack products to be shipped
  • Wrap skids, stack boxes and manifest shipments to be delivered to customers
  • Perform other warehouse related tasks as assigned

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Detail oriented
  • Able to manage strict deadlines
  • Able to multitask and take direction from multiple sources
  • PC skills and proficient in MS Office and Google Suites software
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills
  • Organized and function with little managerial direction
  • Ability to work well across departmental lines
  • Manufacturing/Distribution experience desirable
  • Working knowledge of SAP
  • Good analytical skills; competency for understanding metrics and ability to present and communicate to management
  • Must be a self-starter, have a sense of urgency, be personable, independent, and have the ability to achieve goals and focus on details
  • Team player with positive attitude, strong collaborative skills, and the ability to influence without having direct authority
  • Must be able to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds
  • Ability to read, speak, write, spell, and understand the English language

Nice-to-haves
