About the position

The Distribution Center Generalist at Almo Corporation is responsible for efficiently picking and packing customer orders while ensuring safe handling and adherence to company standards. This role involves working in a fast-paced environment and may include training new hires. There are two levels of this position, with the Senior Generalist taking on additional responsibilities such as operating a cherry picker and coordinating workflow.

Responsibilities

• Pick merchandise from the distribution center aisles that does not require manipulation by forklift or clamp truck.
• Receive merchandise for return or delivery and verify its contents.
• Count and stock merchandise based on inventory control log.
• Identify damaged, lost, or missing merchandise and notify the supervisor immediately.
• Pack orders in an orderly manner and prepare boxes for shipping.
• Treat merchandise with care and concern at all times.
• Train and support new hires during their onboarding process.
• Senior Generalist will operate a cherry picker and coordinate workflow within a segment of the Distribution Center operations.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Good math, language, and reading skills.
• High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others and promote a safe work environment.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions for picking and packing operations and keeping records.
• Execute assignments in an accurate, timely, and safe manner.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Capable of sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time.
• Able to push and move boxes.
