About the position
The Distribution Center Maintenance Supervisor at Barcel USA LLC is responsible for overseeing maintenance processes related to racks and conveyor systems within the distribution center. The role focuses on promoting best practices, ensuring safety, and maintaining operational continuity while extending the useful life of equipment. The supervisor will create and execute maintenance plans, provide technical support, manage spare parts inventory, and lead training sessions to ensure proper equipment usage.
Responsibilities
- Create, monitor, and execute maintenance and cleaning plans for conveyors and racks to prevent equipment stoppages.
- Provide timely technical support to operational and administrative users of the equipment.
- Follow up on equipment failures or stoppages to ensure operational continuity.
- Prepare failure reports and manage warranties and corrective maintenance actions to minimize downtime.
- Manage inventory of spare parts and consumables to prevent stoppages due to lack of supplies.
- Promote good equipment usage through training programs to prevent misuse and premature wear.
- Coordinate maintenance and renewal programs with suppliers to maximize equipment lifespan and minimize costs.
- Plan and conduct training sessions for equipment usage and configurations.
- Implement continuous improvement actions to reduce stoppages and enhance equipment longevity.
- Supervise the installation of equipment to ensure compliance with specifications and timelines.
- Participate in performance review meetings and present area indicators.
- Engage in internal and external training and lead special projects as needed.
Requirements
- More than 1 year of experience as a maintenance supervisor.
- Associate Degree in related fields.
- Proficiency in English; Spanish is preferred but not required.
- Experience in creating, monitoring, and executing maintenance plans.
- Knowledge of maintenance for racks, conveyors, and their components.
- Experience in warehousing operations and inventory management is preferred.
- Experience in part inventory management and procurement is preferred.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Ability to coach, develop, engage, and retain associates.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in installation or maintenance of electromechanical systems in a distribution center.
- Knowledge of quality systems and 5S methodology.
