About the position

The Distribution Center Manager at Cameron Ashley Building Products is responsible for driving sales and managing operations within a distribution facility. This role involves leading employees, ensuring operational efficiencies, and achieving sales growth while maintaining a focus on safety and compliance. The manager will oversee various initiatives related to inventory control, profit margin management, and P&L analysis, all while fostering a customer-focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Drive sales and manage operations for the distribution facility.
  • Recommend, implement, and monitor the annual operating budget.
  • Analyze and manage P&L statements monthly to identify areas for improvement.
  • Motivate and lead the sales team to drive sales and profit growth.
  • Maximize profit by reviewing daily sales and margins and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Review and communicate market trends and competitive products.
  • Control on-hand inventory value and costs in alignment with purchasing.
  • Monitor performance goals and expectations of all Distribution Center employees.
  • Assist HR with hiring, coaching, discipline, and dismissal processes.
  • Train employees on Distribution Center and Company processes.
  • Strategically plan material transportation requirements and organize delivery routes.
  • Monitor shipping to ensure accurate and timely product delivery.
  • Achieve a safe and compliant work environment with zero recordable incidents.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction or Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • 5+ years' experience managing a high performing distribution center.
  • 2+ years' experience in a role accountable for profitability.
  • Proven sales and sales management experience.
  • Ability to evaluate P&L statements.
  • Proven track record of cost-saving initiatives.

Nice-to-haves
