About the position

The Distribution Center Stockroom Associate at NAPA Auto Parts plays a crucial role in ensuring that parts are efficiently received, stocked, and shipped from the warehouse to stores and customers. This position involves various tasks related to inventory management, order fulfillment, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment. The associate will work in a fast-paced warehouse setting, contributing to the overall success of the distribution center.

Responsibilities

  • Expedite incoming and outgoing freight in the NAPA Distribution Center Warehouse.
  • Receive, stock, pull, stage, load, and ship freight.
  • Process inventory and maximize warehouse space usage.
  • Check, verify, load, stock, and pull inventory to meet store and customer orders.
  • Unpack incoming parts shipments from suppliers.
  • Pull all orders for standard customer stock orders and special orders accurately and completely.
  • Use electronic scan-gun to review outbound customer orders for pulling accuracy and ensure safe packing for shipment.
  • Clean up and dispose of boxes, packing material, and pallets, maintaining general housekeeping of the facility.
  • Perform daily inspections of motorized and manual equipment including lift gate, pallet jack, and hand truck.
  • Operate warehouse machinery in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Verify and complete required documentation and reports.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a distribution center and/or warehouse environment.
  • Ability to lift and move parts of up to 75 pounds and push/pull 300 pounds using mechanical aids.
  • Capable of moving heavy equipment with moving aids such as hand trucks and pallet jacks.
  • Ability to bend or stoop to ground level shelves and reach upper shelves (8 feet) with the use of a stool or ladder.
  • Understanding and recognizing part numbers and line codes for proper identification of parts.
  • Basic understanding of operating a computer terminal.
  • Ability to write legibly and read, understand written/verbal instructions.
  • Ability to bend, twist, squat, climb, push and pull, and move at a quick pace.
  • Must be able to work in a drug-free atmosphere.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience using RF scanning equipment is a plus but not mandatory.
