About the position

The Distribution Center Stockroom Associate plays a crucial role in the NAPA family by ensuring that parts are efficiently received, stocked, and shipped from the warehouse to meet customer demands. This position involves working in a busy warehouse environment, handling inventory, and utilizing equipment to facilitate the movement of parts, all while adhering to safety standards and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Expediting incoming and outgoing freight in the NAPA Distribution Center Warehouse.
  • Receiving, stocking, pulling, staging, loading, and shipping freight.
  • Processing inventory and maximizing warehouse space usage.
  • Checking, verifying, loading, stocking, and pulling inventory to meet store and customer orders.
  • Unpacking parts shipments from suppliers.
  • Pulling all orders for standard customer stock orders and special orders accurately and completely.
  • Routing products appropriately and meeting the prescribed picking quota set by management.
  • Using electronic scan-gun to review outbound customer orders for pulling accuracy.
  • Ensuring safe packing of orders for shipment to customers and properly labeling shipping trays/packages according to D.O.T. standards and hazardous material regulations.
  • Cleaning up and disposing of boxes, packing material, and pallets, as well as maintaining general housekeeping of the facility.
  • Following all safety rules including the handling of hazardous materials.
  • Loading customer orders into delivery trucks in proper sequence according to freight bills.
  • Performing daily inspections of appropriate motorized and manual equipment including lift gate, pallet jack, and hand truck.
  • Operating warehouse machinery in accordance with established safety procedures as needed to maintain warehouse stock.
  • Verifying and completing required documentation and reports.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a distribution center and/or warehouse environment.
  • Ability to lift and move parts of up to 75 pounds and push/pull 300 pounds using hitch-and-go dolly.
  • Capable of moving engine blocks and other heavy equipment with moving aids.
  • Ability to repeatedly bend or stoop to ground level shelves and reach upper shelves (8 feet) using a stool or ladder when necessary.
  • Understanding and recognizing part numbers and line codes for proper identification of parts.
  • Basic understanding and capability of operating a computer terminal.
  • Ability to write legibly and read, understand written/verbal instructions, and communicate effectively with team members.
  • Ability to bend, twist, squat, climb, push, pull, and move at a quick pace.
