About the position
The Inbound Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the operations of the inventory control department within a distribution center. This leadership role involves assigning work to inbound employees, ensuring compliance with safety policies, and maintaining productivity. The supervisor will lead by example, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and efficiency in daily operations.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the operations of the inventory control department.
- Assign work functions to inbound employees for receiving and put away activities.
- Ensure compliance with company and site-specific safety policies.
- Lead by example to develop a culture of safety, quality, and productivity.
- Manage day-to-day activities to meet internal and external customer requirements.
- Motivate and lead team members, addressing safety and productivity issues as they arise.
- Inspect received materials and resolve any problems.
- Train employees on equipment use and product care.
- Complete reports and records in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean and orderly facility.
Requirements
- Minimum of three to five years of experience in a distribution center or warehouse environment.
- Previous leadership experience as a manager or supervisor.
- Experience with ERP systems and warehouse management systems (e.g., Oracle NetSuite, Epicor P21, SAP).
- Experience with forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Ability to work independently and manage a team effectively.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Nice-to-haves
- Receiving experience is preferred.
- Experience with RF scanners in a warehouse environment.
