About the position
The Distribution Center Supervisor at Rexel USA is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all activities within the distribution center during their shift. This role includes managing inbound and outbound operations, ensuring safety and productivity, and leading a team of employees to meet key performance indicators. The supervisor will also be involved in hiring, training, and performance management, while maintaining the security and efficiency of the distribution center.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and supervise all distribution center activities on the assigned shift.
- Interview, train, and direct work for employees.
- Complete performance reviews and address employee issues.
- Ensure efficient and safe operation of material handling equipment.
- Oversee inbound and outbound shipments to ensure accuracy and safety.
- Coordinate receiving, shipping, picking, and packing of inventory.
- Establish work schedules and ensure jobs are completed properly.
- Utilize Workforce Management System (WMS) metrics to increase productivity.
- Evaluate policies and procedures for efficiency improvements.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required.
- 5+ years of warehouse or distribution center experience.
- 2+ years of leadership experience preferred.
- Certified to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to perform job duties of all departmental positions.
- Excellent leadership and customer service skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge and experience in Lean and Process Flow Layout in Distribution Centers.
- Proficiency in Distribution Center Management Software (WMS) and AS400.
