About the position

The Distribution Center Supervisor at OmniCable is responsible for overseeing the physical receiving and distribution of specialty wire and cable products. This role focuses on ensuring operational efficiency, security, and adherence to safety standards while managing a team of associates. The supervisor will also collaborate with sales teams to meet customer order requirements and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the DC Manager in overseeing the physical receiving and distribution of products.
  • Ensure security and efficient operation of loading, unloading, and inventory tracking.
  • Supervise and train DC associates in processing orders effectively and efficiently.
  • Process daily orders to ensure 100% customer satisfaction.
  • Manage multiple priorities in receiving and shipping areas.
  • Load and unload trucks, operate forklifts, and use wire and cable cutting machines.
  • Supervise daily functions of DC associates, including work assignments and job responsibilities.
  • Assist with employee training and development, ensuring adherence to safety standards and SOPs.
  • Work closely with sales teams to meet customer order requirements in a timely manner.
  • Handle communication and shipping documentation with truck drivers.
  • Coordinate orders in the distribution center and check orders for accuracy.
  • Support the DC Manager with non-order related work such as facilities management and inventory control.
  • Lead the team in the absence of the DC Manager, including team leadership and facility maintenance.
  • Fill specific production roles when volume dictates and open/close the facility as needed.
  • Be on call for emergency orders.

Requirements

  • 5-8 years of warehouse/inventory management experience.
  • Comfortable in a high urgency production environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to direct sales and distribution staff.
  • Ability to communicate successfully with multiple levels of the company.
  • Prior use of RF technology/computerized WMS systems required.
  • Basic PC or computer proficiencies.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US and be at least 18 years of age.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of specialty and basic wire and cable products.
  • Experience with wire and cable cutting/rolling machines, cable jacks, and various saws and cutting tools.
  • Military training and/or experience.
  • Bilingual.
