About the position
The Distribution Clerk 2 (RX Stock Order Entry) plays a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely entry of customer orders into the computer system at Walman Optical. This position is essential for maintaining operational efficiency and supporting the company's mission to provide exceptional service and quality eyewear to independent eye care professionals.
Responsibilities
- Timely and accurate keying of order requirements into the computer.
- Understand and apply company promotions, policies, and procedures in carrying out the order entry functions.
- Recheck completed Rx's for correctness before issuing to the lab for processing.
- Match invoices and file as necessary.
- Maintain lab operating system software update/procedures manual and keep the work area organized.
- Follow all company and manufacturer's policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with attendance and safety rules.
- Maintain confidentiality of all proprietary information.
- Assist coworkers to keep work current and meet deadlines, demonstrating a good attitude.
- Provide training and technical guidance for less experienced coworkers.
- Attend in-house sponsored training meetings when necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including frame tracing.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or comparable work experience.
- 2 years of experience working in a clerical setting.
- Basic use of laptop, keyboard, and 10-key with accurate typing skills.
- Good reading, writing, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Nice-to-haves
- Previous experience with DVI software is desirable.
