About the position

The Distribution Engineering Associate role at System One is a 6-month contract position based in Statesboro, GA. The position focuses on supporting distribution engineering tasks within the utility industry, requiring a strong technical background in engineering principles and power systems. The associate will work collaboratively with various stakeholders to ensure project goals are met efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Support distribution engineering tasks and projects.
  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, engineers, and line crew personnel.
  • Prioritize and organize work to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Write and execute switching orders as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET Accredited School, Engineering Technology, Math, or Science.
  • Professional Engineer's License (PE) in lieu of the above bachelor's degree.
  • Previous distribution engineering experience is a plus.
  • Experience in the utility industry or related field.
  • Proficient with MS Office products and engineering software systems.
  • Strong technical engineering skills and understanding of power systems.
  • Knowledge of general engineering and construction principles.
  • Familiarity with electrical system operations and distribution systems.
  • Prior experience in writing and executing switching orders preferred.
  • Working knowledge of ARMS, JETS, Designer/GIS, CSS, Socket, DistView, TCMS Web, NJUNS, EDEN, OUA, and OFS preferred.
  • Knowledge of the Franchise Manual, Distribution Bulletins, and Engineering Handbook/Specifications preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet strict deadlines.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • 2-4 year degree from an accredited school is a plus.
  • Good attitude and ability to provide excellent customer service.
  • Working knowledge of NESC.
